Boy uses Red Cross skills to save his sister

Here is an injury prevention story from Atlantic Canada that we just had to share with everyone. Ten year-old Brandon Mitchell from Gander Newfoundland was recently presented with a Red Cross Rescuer Award at his school. Last April, his little sister Kendra-Lynn fell through ice in a nearby harbour. Knowing time was of the essence, Brandon sent his brother Cody for help.

Brandon learned his life-saving skills as a member of his school’s Red Cross Youth Group.  Congrats Brandon!
